Who we are
About TUUYA
Solid timber houses from Latvia, built for people who read the specification before the brochure.
The name
TUUYA comes from tūja, the Latvian name for the thuja tree. The old botanists' name for it is arbor vitae, the tree of life. We build houses from solid wood, so the name fits.
What we build
We build in solid timber: MHM and CLT houses, glulam structures, A-frame cabin kits, saunas, wooden windows and doors. One material, one discipline. Every project is priced individually, because no two sites and no two families are the same.
How a TUUYA house is made
We are a Latvian brand. Houses are engineered and produced by our manufacturing partner EstHus, an Estonian factory whose work took Best Private House at Estonia's Prefab House of the Year 2023. Design takes one to three months, production one to two, weather-tight shell assembly on your foundation two to three weeks. A completed house takes two to four months on site. A fixed written quote and an agreed schedule come before anything is made.
Standards
Built to EU building codes. Certified FSC, PEFC, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. A guarantee of 5 to 10 years on materials.
